Verification markings for non-automatic weighers and automatic weighers
Non-automatic weighers marketed since 20. 4. 2016 according to Directive 2014/31/EU on the harmonisation of the laws of the Member States relating to the making available on the market of non-automatic weighing instruments and automatic weighers marketed since 2006 according to Directive on measuring instruments
- ‘CE marking’ means a marking by which the manufacturer indicates that the instrument is in conformity with the applicable requirements set out in Union harmonisation legislation providing for its affixing,
- The supplementary metrology marking (surrounded by a rectangle) consists of the capital letter “M”, and yy – the last two digits of the year of its affixing
- The CE marking and the supplementary metrology marking is followed by xxxx – identification number of the notified body or bodies involved in the production control phase
Non-automatic weighers marketed in Slovenia since 2003 (earlier in EU) until 19. 4. 2016 according to Directive 2009/23/EC on non-automatic weighing instruments:
- the markings in a rectangle consist of:
- CE – a marking by which the manufacturer indicates that the instrument is in conformity with the applicable requirements,
- yy – the last two digits of the year of its affixing,
- xxxx – identification number of the notified body or bodies involved in the production control phase
- a green sticker at least 12,5 mm x 12,5 mm square bearing a capital letter ‘M’ printed in black.

Verification marking in shape of a 22 mm diameter round sticker to indicate the conformity of the instrument with applicable requirements.
- in the center: above the ‘SI’ marking is identification number of the inspection body (381) to indicate the conformity of the instrument,
- in the outer circle there are numbers from 0 to 9 on both right and left side:
- the left side of the circle indicates the decade, and
- the right side of the circle indicates the year of the expiration of verification
- in the inner circle there are numbers form 1 to 12, indicating the month of the expiration of verification.
The sticker is identified by hole punching the corresponding numbers.
Verification marking as a stamp in shape of a 7 mm shield to indicate the conformity of the instrument.
- front side:
- in the upper part there are the last two digits of the year of the expiration of verification,
- in the lower part there is the identification number of the inspection body (381).
- back side:
- in the upper part there is the ‘SI’ marking,
- in the lower part there is the month of the expiration of verification.
The initial Verifications of Non-automatic and Automatic Weighers with National Approval
Verification marking in shape of a 15 mm diameter circle to indicate the conformity of the instrument.
- the marking has a white background with blue border and characters,
- inside there is an isosceles scale, up left there is the ‘SI’ marking,
- to the right there are the last two digits of the initial verification, between the rectangles there is the identification number of the inspection body (381) to indicate the conformity of the instrument.

Security Marking for all types of Measuring instruments - marking, by which the instrument is protected from unauthorized works
Security marking is in shape of a 20 x 8 mm size oval.
Under the ‘SI’ marking there is the identification number of the inspection body (381) to indicate the conformity of the instrument.
Security marking is in shape of a hexagon:
Security marking is in shape of a hexagon with a 7 mm diameter outlined circle, inside which there is a capital letter ‘Z’. Left to the letter there is the ‘SI’ marking, right to the letter there is the identification number of the inspection body (381) to indicate the conformity of the instrument.
